Blue cave is naturally made dome like cave. About 60 meters in length 10 meters in height. Water depth is around 6 meters inside the cave. It is located in cape Maeda (Maedamisaki) in Onna village. The entrance of the cave is located in the sea. If you want to enjoy the blue cave you have to get in the water.
The blue cave got its name by the reflection of the sunlight. Sunlight enters the cave from the opening near the entrance. And the light reflects off the water and the white seabed, wrapping the area (surface and underwater) with a layer of blue light.
It’s not only the blue cave, also the water surrounding it is very interesting. You can encounter lots of tropical fishes and sea creatures. All the tours we offer in Marine club UMI, there is an option to feed fish. If you want to see the fish up close I recommend this option. Water depth around this area is between 4 to 15 meters. It makes this spot an ideal place for snorkeling and scuba diving point for beginners too.
If you have any questions regarding the blue cave or the tours marine club UMI offers, please leave in a comment or send us an email.
Happy diving.
